Period: Sophomore year – present

Overview

Led brake component lightweighting via Solidworks modeling and Ansys topology optimization; also contributed to aerodynamic kit load structure design, lightweighting, static simulation, and topology optimization. Managed team social media and event promotion. Targeting national second prize in 2026.

  • Achieved 60% weight reduction on brake/accelerator pedal arms and brake guide rails; wing mount volume doubled with ≤50% mass increase via topology optimization
  • Contributed to aerodynamic kit load structure design, lightweighting, static simulation, and topology optimization
  • Co-managed team outreach and generated technical content for public engagement
